After doing a 48 hr session this weekend on pit 5. I decided to have a walk round pit 6 before leaving, and could not believe what some dirty scumbag bas*ards leave behind after a session. Why do it? I think the person/people responsible should be banned for life. The area of in particular being the bank opposite 5/6 split with the A1 to the right and the train tracks on the left. Take the litter home and stop shi**ing in the undergrowth. Disgusting.

Had an overnighter on pit 2 with a mate and took my son along for the ride. Got to lakes around 1pm and got set up. Lake looked nice but the 2 pegs we where going to fish were in use on the railway bank so opted to go on the A1 bank and try our luck. The pegs were a bit reeded up but my mate Steve being at one with nature stripped to his shorts and cleared some reeds out to get rods in. I only had the rods in about 30 mins when I had a good take which ended in a 13 common in the net. About 30 mins later another good run and a bit of a fight under the rod tip and a gorgeous 19 1/4 lb mirror in the net. Got to say what a stunning fish and an A1 pb for me but just shy of my actual Pb, 20lb+ has got to come out soon i'm sure.

just got made some new brackets for the snag ears which have built in section to accomadate your chains for your bobbins, the brackets are same as before but these are extremely polished brackets.

alot more work goes into making these type of snag ears so i have to charge £15 each but without they will still be £10, they are still all stainless 3mm plate with added 8mm bar to screw in your chains with a 5mm thread which is the same as matrix and solar chains, as before the upright bars can be made in any lenght to suit your alarms and they will fit any alarm and you can still get your delkim txi hardcase on with the snag ears attached to the alarms..

Decided on a last minute night session on tuesday after getting a pass out from her in doors!!. Got...

Decided on a last minute night session on tuesday after getting a pass out from her in doors!!. Got to the pits at about 6pm, and saw the first few pegs were taken, having only fished here once before, i wasn't sure where else to fish, but bumped into steve, whilst driving under the A1 bridge. After asking where he recommended, he told me that a few barbs had been coming out further down the river, he pointed me to a peg next to 2 large trees well down river. I got there and quickly got my rods out, mixed some groundbait up and fired both rods out with double hair-rigged 8mm hali pellets on, whilst i sorted the rest of my gear out. i must stipulate that i have never caught a river barbel before, but was quietly opptimistic with what steve had told me. No longer had i sorted everything out and sat down for a brew, the left hand rod shot off, 5 mins battle i had my 1st barbel in the net, all 7lb 6oz of her. To say i was happy is an understatement!!!!, i took a quick snap on my phone, and popped her back in the edge in the net to let her recover. I rebaited both rods and banged them both back out. Not 15 mins later the left hand rod shot off again, same as before 5 mins hard fight and i slipped her in my net, this one had a really crooked back. not wanting to keep her out too long i popped the hook out, took a quick snap of her in the net and let her rest in the margins for 10 mins. I couldn't beleive my look, so popped the rod straight back in, 10 mins after, zzzzzzzooooooommmmmm, off it goes again, same thing only this time its getting on for 9lb. I was buzzing like a bee!!!! Fourth cast in, 10 mins later, again it sets off, this was the biggest, 9lb 8oz..... what a fish, what an evening.
After that one was popped back, i had 3 bream to 5lb, then gave up and retired to the sack, happy as anyone, and buzzing about my first barb (s)!!!!!!
Thanks to Steve for putting me on them, I WILL BE BACK!!!!
