    2. River Trent

This section of the river trent is approximately one and a half mile long, with over a hundread peg's

The stretch starts from what is known as the sunken barge or crankley point which is well known for barbel and also some big carp have been caught in the area to 37lb.

Barbel run well into double figures and are often caught in good numbers in this area, the water itself is fairly shallow so no boats can pass this area, and at times some hefty weight is needed to hold bottom especially if the level is up, normal level you will need around 5 oz to hold bottom pike are also caught from this area also bream even though the pace of the river can be pretty quick around this area at times.

As you move down river the speed of the river slow's and gets deeper, which means less weight to hold bottom is needed, the A1 bridge area holds some good sized barbel and carp especially under the bridge but this area is very snaggy under the bridge but holds some big fish, but be prepared to fish heavy gear and prepare to loose some gear.

Further down the stretch is also a good area for stick float or even pole fishing with the pace of the river slowing dont let this put you off though if your after barbel has some big catches come from well below the bridge towards and including the very last pegs.

All along the stretch produces very good catches of barbel also chubb bream pike and zander all along the stretch there's even been 2 catfish caught from the stretch the biggest being 34lb.

Prices on the river are £5 for 12 hrs and £10 for 24hrs all pegs are accessible by car and and you can park directly behind your swim

NO open fires are allowed on the river, bbq's are allowed but must be raised so they dont cause grass fires

ALL RUBBISH IS TO BE TAKEN AWAY AND NOT LEFT IN THE UNDER GROWTH YOU WILL ALSO NEED A VALID ROD LICENSE, IF YOU USE 3 RODS THEN YOU WILL NEED 2 LICENSES WHICH ALLOW YOU TO USE 4 RODS MAXIMUM
